Thai Massage with Mandy

The kind of massage where you stay fully clothed, get stretched in ways you didn’t know you needed, and leave feeling taller, lighter, and somehow more yourself.

What is it?

Thai massage is rooted in Thai traditional medicine, a centuries-old healing system that views the body through the lens of energy lines, or sen pathways.

When these pathways are blocked, the body can store tension, stagnation, and stress. This form of bodywork uses rhythmic pressure, stretching, and breath to help open these channels so your energy (or lom pran, the wind of life) can flow freely again.

It’s potent whole-body work not because it pushes harder, but because it follows a lineage that understands how the body holds, and how to gently help it let go.

What this work helps with:

Let go of the kind of tension that builds from doing life, working, holding it all together, carrying the weight.

Feel more spacious and mobile in places that have felt stuck, hunched or heavy

Reconnect to parts of you that have been quietly bracing for longer than you realized.

Come back into your body with more clarity, calm, and connection.

Supporting your overall well-being without having to hit a breaking point first

Whether you're slouching over a laptop all day, carrying the mental load, or simply haven’t felt like yourself in a while this kind of touch can help you come back to yourself.

What to expect:

When you arrive, we’ll begin with a quick check-in. This full-body treatment shifts in response to you, what you’re carrying, how you’re feeling, and where your body needs support.

You’ll have time to change, I’ll provide Thai fisherman pants, and I’ll ask you to bring a clean, loose-fitting shirt (not your street clothes). This is to keep things comfortable and fresh for both of us.

Thai massage is done fully clothed on a floor mat. It combines rhythmic pressure, assisted stretches, and acupressure along the body's energy lines. You won’t be lying still the whole time, we’ll shift positions throughout the session: lying on your back, side, stomach, or even seated.

Unlike many Western styles, Thai massage uses the whole body of the practitioner.  I’ll be using my hands, elbows, feet, knees, and sometimes even sitting on or leaning into you to apply pressure and support movement. It’s a conversation through the body, not something done to you, but something we move through together.

Sessions are 90 minutes to allow time for depth, presence, and pacing without rushing the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to take my clothes off?

Nope. Thai massage is done fully clothed. You’ll bring a clean loose-fitting shirt to change into, and I’ll provide comfortable Thai fisherman pants for the session.

Is this an oil massage?

No. Unlike traditional Western or spa massages, Thai massage is performed without oil. It uses rhythmic pressure, stretching, and movement on a floor mat, not a massage table.

Will it hurt?

This work can be deep, but it should never be painful. We'll stay in communication and I'll adjust pressure or technique as needed. It's about working with your body, not against it.

Do I need to be flexible to get a Thai massage?

Nope, Thai massage meets your body where it is. We'll work within your natural range, not push past limits but gently support more space and movement over time.

What should I wear?

Please bring a loose fitting top (like a soft t-shirt) to change into when you arrive. I'll provide Thai fisherman pants for the session. You stay fully clothed the whole time.

What if I'm not used to being touched?

That's totally okay, we'll move at your pace. This is respectful, attuned bodywork. Not rushed or invasive. You can always speak up or ask questions at any point.

Is this the same as getting stretched at a yoga studio or physiotherapist?

Not quite. While Thai massage includes assisted stretching, it also works wit pressure points, energetic lines and muscular release. It's more holistic, collaborative and much more than just getting pulled around.

Can I talk during the session?

Yes. Some people talk, some don't. There's not pressure either way. This is your time and we go with what supports you most.

Do I need to be in pain to benefit from this?

Not at all. Many people come in feeling tired, tight or just "off", and find this kind of bodywork helps them reset and feel more like themselves again.
